Blue Zone (Emelexy/Lara K.) is out March 5th, 2022. The first showing from new label EMBER is a four-track showcase of two local producers’ experimentations with dance music.

The EP opens with two tracks from Naarm-based producer and DJ Emelexy. Emelexy has been passionately involved in the local scene for years as a booker, with this experience now proving a vantage point for creative flourishing. Expansive, dubby, and driving, both tracks display Emelexy’s distinctive sound design and knack for propelling rhythm.

The latter tracks are by UK-born, Naarm-based producer/DJ Lara K. Expect percussive, fast maximalism, and a sound palette that mixes oldschool euphoria with contemporary glitchy abrasion. She has previously released on labels including Pure Space, IF? Records, Fluxx and AR53.

Two distinct sonic aesthetics are united through their otherworldly soundscapes and leftfield leanings. Tune into the Blue Zone.
